Sunrisers Hyderabad dump Lucknow Super Giants out of IPL with dominant six-wicket win thanks to some tight death-overs bowling and Abhishek Sharma’s quickfire 20-ball 59; LSG openers Mitchell Marsh (65) and Aiden Markram’s (61) blazing 115-run opening assault in vain

It was a must-win game for Lucknow Super Giants and they had done well to post a challenging total of 205-7 after being put in to bat. But the power-packed batting line-up of the already-eliminated Sunrisers Hyderabad made a mockery of the LSG bowling to win the match by six wickets and in the process end LSG’s slim hopes of making it to the Playoffs.
Riding on openers Mitch March and Aiden Markram’s brilliant partnership of 115, it seemed the home team had done well enough in registering their highest total at the venue this season. But SRH opener Abhishek Sharma’s 20-ball 59 virtually finished the match as a contest. After his departure, Heinrich Klaasen (47 in 28 balls) and Kamindu Mendis (32 retired hurt in 21 balls) ensured that the team did not face any hiccups on the way to victory by six wickets with 10 balls to spare.
