Team India`s skipper, Shubman Gill, will miss out on the second Test match against South Africa. In his absence, Rishabh Pant will take over the leadership duties for the series decider against the Proteas.
Providing an update on Gill`s injury, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a post on its official social media handle, which read, "Update #TeamIndia captain Shubman Gill, who suffered a neck injury during the first Test against South Africa, has been ruled out of the second Test in Guwahati. Rishabh Pant will lead the team in the 2nd Test in his absence. Details | #INDvSA | @IDFCFIRSTBank".
