After Team India's well-fought draw in Manchester, former Team India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin said captain Shubman Gill yet again proved that he has worked on his technique but also pointed out one mistake that the skipper made during the match.

Ashwin was of the opinion that Gill bringing in Washington Sundar late into the attack and doing otherwise may have helped them differently.

"What a fabulous hundred by Shubman Gill. He has once again proved, he worked on his technique. He did not have a great match as captain, the way he brought Washington Sundar late was a huge tactical mistake, but that happens. He is a young captain and will only learn by making mistakes, and I hope he learns faster," he said.

The fourth Test match between Team India and England, which ended in a draw at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground, saw three centurions for India in the second innings. Skipper Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar delivered stunning centuries to help India draw the match.

Even as he spoke about tactics, the former spin great was nothing short of praise for the 25-year-old skipper and backed him by saying Gill walked out to bat when everything was down, and still batted beautifully.
