77 not out vs England (January 2013)
The England batters struggled to find their rhythm while batting first as India bowled them out for a paltry 155 runs in 42.2 overs. Ravindra Jadeja claimed 3-19, while Ishant Sharma (2-29) and Ravichandran Ashwin (2-37) claimed two wickets apiece. In his first international match here, Kohli smashed nine fours and two sixes during his 79-ball knock. The No. 3 batter was named Man of the Match as well, having top-scored for India in a swift 28.1-over chase.

139 not out vs Sri Lanka (November 2014)
In a high-scoring thriller, skipper Angelo Mathews smashed an unbeaten 116-ball 139 (6x4, 10x6) to power Sri Lanka to 286-8. India’s Dhawal Kulkarni claimed three wickets (3-57), while Axar Patel (2-45) and Ashwin (2-56) claimed two scalps each. In response, India looked tense at 14-2, but Kohli, the stand-in skipper at the time in MS Dhoni’s absence, paced his innings to perfection despite wickets falling at the other end, mirroring Mathews’s score off 126 balls (12x4, 3x6) to take India across the line with eight balls and three wickets to spare. Kohli was named Player of the (five-match) Series (329 runs).
