BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia on Wednesday expressed concern over the tragic turn of events during Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s IPL 2025 title celebrations, stating that the festivities should have been 'planned better'. His remarks came in the wake of a stampede outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium that claimed the lives of at least four fans and left several others injured, as reported by PTI.

The euphoric atmosphere in Bengaluru following RCB’s long-awaited IPL triumph quickly descended into chaos. What was meant to be a jubilant celebration marking the franchise’s maiden title in 18 years turned into a nightmare, as an overwhelming crowd, reportedly in the lakhs, gathered outside the stadium. Local authorities struggled to manage the massive turnout, resulting in a fatal stampede that has shocked the cricketing community.
