Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard faces a four-week injury lay-off after undergoing a successful surgery on a groin problem, the club said yesterday.

Gerrard, who missed Thursday's Europa League defeat against Braga, will now miss around four of Liverpool's remaining league fixtures and is also out of England's Euro 2012 qualifier against Wales on March 26.
