Raqibul Hasan got an outside edge to a Roach delivery and became the fourth man caught behind after lunch for 44, and captain Shakib (16) clipped to Austin at short mid-wicket to become Roach's third victim.
Barbados-born Roach then induced an outside edge from Mushfiqur Rahim two runs short of his half-century which was safely pouched by Walton just after tea.
Not content with four wickets, Roach had Shahadat Hossain caught by Richards at second slip without having troubled the scorers, and completed his haul by having Mahmudullah taken by Austin at fine leg.
