Kings XI Punjab defeated Rajasthan Royals by 48 runs in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium here Thursday.

Kings XI Punjab defeated Rajasthan Royals by 48 runs in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium here Thursday.

In reply to Kings XI's 195 for seven, Rajasthan Royals made 147 for seven in their 20 overs.

Riding on Shaun Marsh's 71 and Paul Valthaty's 46, Kings XI Punjab set a 196-run target for Rajasthan Royals.


Marsh's 71 came off just 42 balls and contained three sixes and six fours, while Valthaty's 46 came in 31 balls as Kings XI Punjab made 195 for 7 in their 20 overs after being put in to batch.u00a0

Skipper Adam Gilchrist made 28 off 16 balls.

For the Royals, Shaun Tait took three wickets while Shane Watson took two.
