Kamran Khan's biggest hitch in signing the contract with IPL's newest entrant Pune Warriors was Rajasthan Royals skipper Shane Warne.

The last few days have been quite tricky for Kamran. On one hand, he had an offer from the Pune franchise and on the other, Rajasthan Royals, who gave him his first big break, were keen to retain him.

"Though I have informed coach Darren Berry and others at RR, I have not yet conveyed my decision to Warne. I don't know how to tell him. He has been a great support. I will never forget his contribution towards my game," Kamran told MiD DAY. The former Aussie great had termed Kamran the 'Tornado' even before Season Two of the IPL kicked off in South Africa.

Indeed, it has been one of the most difficult decisions to take for Kamran. "Rajasthan Royals gave me everything; they gave great support during my injury and I will always be grateful for what they have done.

Whatever I am today is because of them," Mumbai-based Kamran said.

So, what made him join Pune? "I believe I will get more chances to play for Pune. There was no other reason. It would be wrong to perceive that I left RR because of controversy (franchise termination issue)," clarified the 19-year-old, who took three wickets in as many matches in the last IPL.

When asked about his plans for the IPL IV, he said: "My preparations are going well. I am excited to play with a new team and I am keen to take my game to the next level."
