Former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar is thrilled to play a cricket match in the middle of a game reserve in South Africa. "Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine playing cricket amongst wild animals. It will be a great experience and I am eagerly looking forward to it.

"I was a bit wary when I heard about this concept of playing cricket in the wild. But I am convinced with the safety measures the organisers have taken," Vengsarkar said during a media interaction at the Cricket Club of India yesterday.

After a path-breaking tournament for the games' legends on the Alpine slopes in Switzerland two years ago, the organisers of the event, Beyond Boundaries, are all set to hold a six-a-side tennis ball match in KwalaZulu Natal on November 15.

India's first World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev will lead the Indian team, which comprises Vengsarkar, Ajay Jadeja, Anshuman Gaekwad, Roger Binny and Sandeep Patil. Mike Procter will lead the Proteas team that includes stalwarts like Graeme Pollock, Lance Klusener, Andrew Hudson, Peter Kirsten and Paul Adams.
