IPL 8: Dinesh Karthik fined for poor conduct

Hyderabad: Royal Challengers Bangalore wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik was fined 20 per cent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during his team's match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday.

According to a media release issued by IPL: "Match referee Roshan Mahanama found Mr Karthik guilty of the Level 1 offence (Article 2.1.8) of conduct that is contrary to the spirit of the game. For Level 1 breaches, the Match Referee's decision is final and binding."

During the rain-curtailed tie against SRH, Karthik argued with the umpires protesting their decision to carry on with game despite a steady drizzle which was making the pitch wet.
