Indian fans are known to be emotional. Following Sunday's World T20 loss in the final to Sri Lanka at Mirpur, there were reports of stone pelting at Yuvraj Singh's house in Chandigarh's Mani Majra.

Fans vented their anger on Yuvraj for his poor batting display in the summit clash. The southpaw's 21-ball 11 played a key role in India losing momentum towards the end of their innings.

Mohammad Kaif, whose house was also pelted with stones following Team India's poor show in the initial stages of the 2003 World Cup in South Africa, said Indian fans have to become mature now.

"Whatever has happened is sad. This shouldn't have happened. No player wants to perform badly. Every player goes out there to give his best, but it is just that sometimes it does not click.

They (fans) give us enormous love, but I feel the fans should also try and balance it out. In these tough times they should behave in a mature way," Kaif told mid-day yesterday.

Following the incident, security was beefed up at Yuvraj's residence. According to reports, the incident happened soon after India lost the final on Sunday night. Police sources reportedly said that some unidentified youths in three cars created a ruckus outside Yuvraj's house.
