Delhi will miss 'pillar' Sehwag

The Board of Control for Cricket in India confirmed that Virender Sehwag will miss the entire fourth season of the Indian Premier League just as MiD DAY reported yesterday.

"Virender Sehwag has been ruled out of the remainder of the ongoing IPL season due to an injury to his right shoulder," said BCCI Honorary Secretary and President Elect N Srinivasan in a release yesterday evening.

As usual, the BCCI did not reveal more details about Sehwag's injury.

Meanwhile, P B Vanchi, director of GMR Sports, owners of Delhi Daredevils said: "We will miss Sehwag as he has been the pillar for Daredevils.

"But we also know how important it is for Sehwag to get the surgery done and be fit for future matches.

"We wish him a speedy recovery and hope he will soon be back in action for both Daredevils and India."

Sehwag will miss the tour of the West Indies and probably the tour of England too, according to sources.
