Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Amir was given permission at a London court yesterday to appeal against his six-month jail sentence for his part in the spot-fixing.

The fast bowler, 19, was sentenced to serve six months in a British young offenders' institute after pleading guilty. A judge at the Court of Appeal refused Amir bail but granted him permission to appeal against his sentence.u00a0
