Australia coach Justin Langer said he was upset and disappointed to learn that some fans had racially abused India's Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah during the Sydney Test over the weekend.

"It is upsetting and disappointing. People think they can come to a sporting event and pay money and abuse or say whatever they like. Really sad to see it happen in Australia where there has been a lot of talks over the last couple of years," Langer said in the virtual press conference after Day 4.
Former Australian greats Michael Hussey and Shane Warne said the incident was a disgrace. "It's absolutely disgraceful. Should never happen, especially what's happened in the last 12 months or so with everything else around the world," Warne said. "It's terrible behaviour. The Indians have come here to entertain us, play some great cricket. We should be grateful that we can watch some live sport. To treat the players like that is unacceptable," Hussey told Fox Sports. Former India cricketers VVS Laxman and Harbhajan Singh were furious. "There is no place for this rubbish. If you can't be respectful then please don't come and spoil the atmosphere," Laxman tweeted.
"I've heard many things on the field while playing in Australia about me, my religion, my colour. This isn't the first time the crowd is doing this nonsense," tweeted Harbhajan.
