Yemen President says he will step down

Yemen's President Ali Abdullah Saleh said on Saturday that he would vacate his post in the coming days. This announcement comes in the wake of the nine month-long mass protests against his regime that have caused much embarrassment to his government. In a speech on state television, Saleh said, "I reject power and I will continue to reject it. I will be leaving power in the coming days." Saleh has been clinging to his position while opposition and ruling party representatives have been trying to formulate a process to see through a transition-of-power deal.
