Two women in Australia were caught shooting a pornographic film on the balcony of a hotel, and in full view of residents and pedestrians passing below.

The duo's antics on the balcony of the Rydges Bell City Hotel in Preston outraged residents, who called the police.

The women were seen using sex toys and performing sex acts on each other as they were being filmed by another person at the complex on the corner of Hotham and Bell streets.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman confirmed officers attended the hotel after receiving complaints from members of the public.

"We are aware of the incident. We did attend and ask them to move inside out of the view of the people," the Age quoted the spokeswoman as saying.

Rydges said the women were shooting a home movie for private purposes, which went "a little bit overboard", and management asked them to leave the hotel immediately.
