The eldest Romney son also revealed that his dad isn’t immune to pre-debate anxiety. When asked if his father gets nervous before the debates, he responded: “Absolutely, are you kidding? He’s terrified before he gets out there!”

u00a0He then quickly backtracked on his extreme word choice.u00a0“Terrified’s too strong a word. But you know, he’s like anybody — he gets butterflies a little bit,” he said. “And then once he’s in it, two or three minutes, he’s forgotten about the nervousness.”

u00a0Tagg Romney, who has assumed an increasingly high-profile role in his father’s campaign, also said that he gets frustrated by what he sees as the “caricature” of his father drawn by the Obama campaign.u00a0“To be perfectly honest, it’s not fun, but at the same time, you’ve got to have thick skin,” so you don’t flip out “and do something you’re going to regret later.” u00a0 u00a0 u00a0 u00a0u00a0
