Another Saudi princess says she wants to drive

Saudi Arabia's Prin-cess Amira al-Taweel, who is married to Prince Alwaleed bin Talal said she's ready to get behind the wheel as soon as women are permitted to drive, highlighting again a contentious issue authorities here prefer to play down.

Amira told the Saudi daily Al-Watan, "I have an international driver's license and I drive in all the countries I travel to. Certainly I'm ready to drive a car [in Saudi]."

Amira, whose husband is a nephew of Saudi King Abdallah and is ranked as the world's 13th-richest person by Forbes magazine, added, "I prefer driving a car with my sister or friend next to me instead of being with a driver who is not (related to me)."u00a0

This is the only country in the world to ban all women, Saudi and foreign, from driving. But lately Saudi princesses have spoken out in support of driving
