Meteorite nearly hits skydiver

Washington: A man reportedly had a close shave with death two years ago after a meteorite narrowly passed by him.

Anders Helstrup caught the action on his camera where the video clip shows a small rock flying downward, just past his open parachute.

The meteorite can be seen hurtling past him.

The incident took place in 2012, but it is only now that it has gone public for bolstering the search efforts to find the meteorite’s landing spot.

The search dubbed, Project Dark Flight, is a reference to what happens when meteoroids are able to fall to Earth at a much-lowered velocity.
