Emergency phone alert service launched in Delhi

An emergency alert service helpline number 55100 was launched yesterday to facilitate sending of alerts to family and friends of a caller, a service provider said.

“During an emergency, like sudden car breakdown or any untoward incident, a person can send an alert by typing ‘HELP’ and sending an SMS to 55100.



Thereafter, a recorded voice message and an SMS will be flashed to a pre-defined list of 10 numbers with location details of the person in trouble,” said S Mahajan, CCO, TBM Technologies Pvt Ltd.u00a0
