Holding banners and posters denouncing the SIR exercise, Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Sonia Gandhi, Samajwadi Party MP Dharmendra Yadav, TMC`s Sagarika Ghose, and others gathered near Parliament’s Makar Dwar, raising slogans and demanding that the SIR process be withdrawn

This marked the 12th day of continuous protests by Opposition MPs, with a single-day break observed on Monday following the demise of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren

MPs held a large banner that read, “Discussion not deletion”, while another banner referred to the SIR process as “Silent Invisible Rigging”

Opposition leaders, including members from the Congress, DMK, TMC, and Left parties, carried placards that read “Stop SIR” and posters accusing the Election Commission of colluding with the Central government

The Opposition has consistently raised concerns in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, alleging that the EC’s revision exercise is an attempt to disenfranchise voters in Bihar ahead of the assembly elections

Parliament proceedings have been significantly affected by the ongoing protest over the SIR issue. Except for discussions on Operation Sindoor, most sessions since the beginning of the Monsoon Session on July 21 have faced repeated adjournments due to the deadlock over the electoral roll revision
