Uttarakhand CM visits flood victims, assures them of every possible support

Uttarakhand Chief Minister CM Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the disasterhit Sainji village on Thursday where he met with locals and assured them of every possible support During his visit he assessed the ongoing relief and rescue operations on the ground reported ANIThe Chief Minister reached the affected area within 24 hours of the disaster demonstrating urgency and commitment to the situationDhami also stopped by a hospital in Uttarkashi to check on those injured in the recent natural calamity He interacted with the patients and instructed medical staff to ensure proper treatment for everyone affectedAccording to the Uttarakhand government a total of 274 stranded individuals from Gangotri and surrounding regions have been safely evacuated to Harshil This group includes people from Gujarat Maharashtra Madhya Pradesh Uttar Pradesh Rajasthan Delhi Assam Karnataka Telangana and Punjab All evacuees are safe and are now being transported to Uttarkashi or Dehradun reported ANIUttarakhand Police reported that those rescued as part of the Uttarkashi Disaster Relief Operation were flown from Harshil to Jollygrant Airport in Dehradun using a Chinook helicopter Upon arrival medical checkups were conducted for all evacueesRelief and rescue missions continue at a rapid pace involving coordinated efforts from the Uttarakhand Police SDRF Army ITBP and other agencies working on the ground reported ANIEarlier Chief Minister Dhami visited the Matli Helipad in Uttarkashi where he met individuals who had been airlifted from the floodhit Dharali village This multiagency evacuation effort included personnel from the ITBP NDRF SDRF and local administrationDuring his visit Dhami personally interacted with evacuees and assured them of all support from the state government He also reviewed preparations for ongoing rescue missions and spoke to team members from various departments involved in relief effortsAs per ANI reports evacuation operations began early on Thursday By 930 AM 44 individuals had already been airlifted from Dharali and Harsil to Matli via ITBP helicopters These evacuees were then moved to secure locations where they could receive shelter and medical careAmong those rescued was one injured individual who was immediately airlifted to Matli for emergency treatmentIn Rudraprayag district continuous rainfall forced authorities to suspend the Kedarnath Yatra on Tuesday Police and SDRF teams helped guide returning pilgrims to safety The blocked road between Gaurikund and Sonprayag was cleared allowing for secure passage to safe zones reported ANIUttarakhand Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan is closely overseeing all operations from the State Emergency Operations Centre to ensure a swift and effective responseAs reported by ANI the state continues to face heavy disruptions due to intense monsoon activity especially in highaltitude regions triggering widespread evacuations and rescue missionsSpeaking earlier in the day NDRF DIG Gambhir Singh Chauhan said that helicopters had been deployed to rescue those trapped He emphasized that multiple agencies including the Army NDRF ITBP and local authorities were working together on both air and ground operationsWe have four teams but since all the roads have been blocked and damaged they couldnt reach Dharali Yesterday 35 personnel were able to reach via helicopters With the helicopter services beginning the toandfro movement of personnel and evacuees has begun There was a communication issue as well but since this morning our satellite phones have been working The state administration army ITBP NDRF SDRF and even local people are helping each other in the search and rescue operations Chauhan said reported ANIOn Wednesday approximately 190 people were rescued from Dharali following a destructive cloudburst that caused flash floods and landslides Rescue efforts involved the Indian Army Indian Air Force ITBP NDRF SDRF BRO and local volunteers who continue their work in the affected regions
