Parliament’s Budget Session begins today with Droupadi Murmu addressing a joint sitting of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, setting the tone for the government’s financial and legislative agenda.
The Economic Survey will be tabled on January 29, ahead of the presentation of the Union Budget 2026 on February 1. Compiled by the Economic Division of the Department of Economic Affairs under the guidance of the Chief Economic Adviser, the Survey will assess economic performance and key indicators for 2025–26 (April–March), while outlining prospects for the coming fiscal year.
