A <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-fire-breaks-out-in-multi-storey-building-in-tilak-nagar-no-casualty-23317647" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">fire broke out</a> in a room of the secretariat building in Jaipur, Rajasthan on Wednesday, the officials said, according to the PTI.
The blaze destroyed the office furniture and other items, they said.
According to the news agency, the secretariat security officer Pradeep Goyal said that the social media team of the Chief Minister's Office works in the room on the fourth floor where the fire broke out.
No casualty was reported in the incident, as per the PTI.
The opposition <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/search/bharatiya-janata-party--articles" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)</a> in Rajasthan has alleged that the fire was not accidental but a part of conspiracy to hide the misdeeds of the Congress government, the PTI reported.
Pradeep Goyal said the security personnel brought the fire under control in the morning after receiving information about smoke emanating from the closed office of the social media team in the CMO.
He said that prima facie the fire seems to have been caused by a short circuit. The actual cause of the fire is being investigated.
After receiving information about the fire, senior officers and employees of the department also reached the spot and took stock of the situation.
Rajasthan BJP spokesperson Laxmikant Bharadwaj alleged that the fire was not accidental but it was part of a conspiracy to hide the misdeeds of the Congress government, according to the PTI.
He said the BJP will also take up the matter with the Election Commission.
Assembly elections will be held in Rajasthan on November 25.
Meanwhile, in an another incident in Maharashtra, a dyeing factory was destroyed after a fire broke out in the unit in Maharashtra's Thane district, civic officials said on Wednesday, reported the PTI.
No one was injured in the blaze which erupted at around 10 pm in the factory located on Kalyan road in Bhiwandi town, Bhiwandi Nizampur MunicipalCorporation's disaster management officer Sakib Kharbe said, as per the PTI.
After being alerted, local firemen along with two fire engines rushed to the spot and put out the blaze in one-and-a-half hours, he said.
Most of the materials in the factory were reduced to ashes, the official said.
The cause of fire was being investigated, he added.
