Leopard spotted at Durg Tekdi in Nigdi; public entry restricted

A leopard sighting was reported in the Durg Tekdi area of Nigdi Pradhikaran in Pune district of Maharashtra following which the forest department have restricted the public entry to ensure safety.

According to an official communication from the Forest Range Officer, Bhosari Division, the leopard was spotted on January 8, 2026, in forested patches around Durg Tekdi and nearby areas of the Pimpri-Chinchwad MIDC.
