Preparations have begun for the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027, which is expected to draw more than 12 crore devotees. The festival will run from October 31, 2026, to July 24, 2028, coinciding with a rare astrological configuration that occurs once every 75 years.
Shekhar Singh, commissioner of the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority (NTKMA), said “the 21-month Simhastha, guided by the rare Trikhand Yog, seeks to balance faith, sustainability, and technology while positioning Nashik as a global pilgrimage and cultural centre”.
