Parliamentary Panel urges public awareness amid inclining cyber frauds

Amid growing cyber frauds and weak cybersecurity infrastructure, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs met in New Delhi to discuss ‘Cyber Crime Ramifications, Protection and Prevention’. Members stressed public awareness, better enforcement, and collaboration with RBI, DFS, and investigation agencies.

With the rising number of cyber frauds and lack of cyber security in India, a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs was held on Wednesday to discuss ways to prevent cybercrime and fraud.

As per ANI, the panel met on the subject 'Cyber Crime – Ramifications, Protection and Prevention'. The panel was headed by BJP MP Radha Mohan Das Agrawal.

As per the sources, members noted that with increasing internet penetration and digital transactions, there is a growing need to raise public awareness about cyber safety. The meeting which was held in New Delhi also highlighted the measures required to curb online fraud and counter cyber criminals.
