Police on Friday reclassified the deaths of Rajeshwariba Jadeja and her husband Yashrajsinh Gohil as a case of murder followed by suicide, a day after the incident at their NRI Tower residence was initially reported as an accidental firearm discharge.
Gohil, a Class-1 officer with the Gujarat Maritime Board and nephew of Congress MP Shaktisinh Gohil, had claimed his licensed revolver went off accidentally while being handled. Based on this statement, the police had initially registered a case of accidental death.
