Six people, including two elderly residents, were rescued from a flooded area in Vasarni, Panchavatinagar, in Nanded district of Maharashtra after water levels rose due to a heavy discharge from the Vishnupuri Dam following heavy rains, an official said on Thursday, reported the PTI.
Late on Wednesday night, the dam released 1.80 lakh cusecs (cubic feet per second) of water, causing low-lying areas in and around Nanded city to become flooded.
