Police have seized 500 kg of beef which was allegedly being transported illegally in a car in Maharashtra’s Nashik District and arrested one person, officers said on Wednesday.

According to the police, activists of the Bajrang Dal attempted to stop a car travelling towards Nashik from Ahilyanagar on the Nashik–Pune national highway on Tuesday after receiving a tip-off, news agency PTI reported. When the driver refused to halt, the activists chased the vehicle and intercepted it near Jetwannagar.
