Orthopaedic surgeon Dr Suhas Kamble, who has spent over three decades in healthcare, has entered active politics, winning ward no. 8 of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket in the Scheduled Caste (A) category. He defeated three-time corporator and former standing committee chairman Seemant Savale by 256 votes, polling 12,618 votes to Savale’s 12,362.

A pioneer in joint replacement surgery, Dr Kamble has introduced MAKO robotic-assisted joint replacement technology to the city.
