Manipur law and order stable; major arrests made during combing operations

The Manipur Police reported that the overall law and order situation in the state remained stable over the past 24 hours, reported ANI. 

Security forces continued extensive search operations and area domination activities in vulnerable and fringe regions across multiple districts. These included intelligence-led combing efforts and cordon-and-search operations aimed at apprehending individuals involved in extortion and other criminal activities, according to the police release.

On August 4, security personnel arrested an active member of the banned group People`s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK). The individual, identified as Pangambam Kepten Singh alias Sachikanta (51), was taken into custody from his residence at Thoubal Haokha Maning Leikai in Thoubal district. Authorities recovered a mobile phone with a SIM card and an Aadhaar card from his possession, reported ANI.
