French President Macron calls PM Modi, discusses Ukraine and Gaza peace efforts

French President Emmanuel Macron held a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, discussing ongoing efforts to secure peaceful resolutions to the conflicts in Ukraine and West Asia, particularly the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza, reported the PTI.

The call, initiated by the French side, follows Macron’s active role in European diplomacy, including recent talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump in Washington.

"Had a very good conversation with my friend President Macron. Exchanged views on efforts for peaceful resolution of conflicts in Ukraine and in West Asia. Reaffirmed our commitment to further strengthen the India-France strategic partnership," PM Modi shared on X.
