Ahead of the Bihar elections, CM Nitish Kumar transferred Rs 1227.27 crore via DBT to over 1.11 crore pension beneficiaries. The pension was recently raised from Rs 400 to Rs 1,100 under key social security schemes. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, saying the hike ensures financial independence and dignity.

With Bihar elections just around the corner, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday ensured the transfer of Rs 1,227.27 crores to the accounts of over 1.11 crore beneficiaries. The amount was transferred under Bihar Social Security Pension Schemes through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Earlier, on Thursday, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his satisfaction after social security beneficiaries thanked him for increasing their pension amount from Rs 400 to Rs 1,100 per month, as per ANI.
After receiving the money in their bank accounts, the beneficiaries expressed gratitude, saying they would no longer have to rely on financial help, thanks to the increased pension.
