CJI Gavai bars senior advocates from mentioning urgent cases in his court

From August 11, 2025, senior advocates will not be allowed to mention urgent cases before CJI B R Gavai’s court, giving junior lawyers a chance to do so. The CJI restored oral mentioning of cases but restricted it to non-designated advocates, aiming to provide more opportunities for younger members of the Bar.
