The police said auto driver Lal Bihari had intentionally entered into restricted blue-lane that is meant for the Commonwealth vehicles only. Bihari was arrested and a case under section 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of IPC was lodged against him.
"The incident occurred around 10 am when the Fiesta car was ferrying a few people belonging to a British broadcasting house. The auto rickshaw driver was on the way to Okhla phase-3 from Captain Gaur Marg.
He intentionally took a right turn despite knowing that he is entering the blue-lane. As he took a sudden right turn his auto rickshaw collided with the car. The auto rickshaw turned turtle after the collision," said a senior police officer.
The officer said the car did not stop at the accident spot. A cop who was on duty there informed the police about the incident. Lal Bihari was taken to a nearby government hospital for treatment.
