FIR is yet to be lodged.
On the morning of August 2, Rakesh's body was found at an isolated place in Kapashera in Delhi. A passerby informed the local police station but even after recovering the body the cops didn't lodge an FIR.
"The cops are just trying to pass the buck. The body was found in Delhi but since Rakesh and his friend went missing in Gurgaon the Delhi police is waiting for Gurgaon police to lodge a case. We are helpless," said Kamlesh, the wife of the deceased.u00a0u00a0
While the body is still in the possession of Delhi policy, the Gurgaon police have arrested the accused from Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh and like their national capital counterparts they are waiting for them to register a case.
"We did our best and detained the prime accused and recovered the stolen car. But the Delhi Police wants us to lodge an FIR in the case. The dead body was found in Delhi and though Rakesh went missing from Gurgaon it is only the Delhi police which should file a case," said a top Gurgaon police official, requesting anonymity.u00a0
When MiD DAY asked the Delhi police about the incident, they said the post mortem report is yet to come and an FIR could only be registered after that.
Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased are planning to move court.
"If the police will not file any FIR, we will move the court to fight for justice for Rakesh," said K C Jha, a local journalist and a family friend of the deceased.
