Most parts of Uttar Pradesh continued to shiver on Tuesday with icy winds blowing and the regional Met office forecasting a spell of rains later in the day
After Lucknow, the coldest place in the state was Meerut where night temperature was recorded at 2.8 degrees Celsius. Moradabad followed with 3.7 degrees Celsius and Kanpur recorded 3.8 degrees Celsius.
The weather office said this week there will be no respite in sight as continuous snowfall in the hilly regions and the icy winds were bound to add to the winter chills. Owing to the intensified cold wave, many schools have shifted the early morning timings to late mornings.
