Elderly woman comes under Sahyadri Express at Pimpri railway station while trying to board running train; brother-in-law dies in attempt to save her

A 62-YEAR-OLD woman and her brother-in-law came under the Sahyadri Express while the former was attempting to board the train at the Pimpri railway station on Monday night.

Unlucky accident: The Pimpri railway station,where Jayashree
Thombare and her brother-in-law Bhanudas died.
The deceased have been identified as Jayshree Raghunath Thombare (62) of Sangli and Bhanudas Aakaram Thombare (55) of Mohan Nagar in Chinchwad.
Jayshree's husband and son were already sitting in the train but were unaware of the tragedy happening outside the train at the Pimpri railway station.
They were informed about Jayshree's death only when they reached the Pune railway station.
Railway police said that Jayshree and her family had come to Chinchwad to meet Bhanudas.
After a family get-together they were returning to Sangli. Bhanudas and his wife had come to the railway station to see them off.
"While her husband and son were seated in their compartment, Jayshree was chatting with Bhanudas and his wife, when the train started.
Jayshree hurriedly boarded the train but entered the first-class compartment by mistake. When some passengers told her about it, Jayshree got down and attempted to enter the second-class compartment of the moving train.
She lost control and came under the train. Bhanudas who saw the incident tried to save her but he too came under the train," police said.
