A 19-year-old boy who called the police control room nearly 263 times over the past few days to harass women officers finally landed in the police net yesterday.
Lala Laxman Bhole (19) and his maternal uncle Ankush Muralidhar Jadhav (32) were arrested by the Bundgarden police for calling the control room number 100 and using vulgar and offensive language with women officers.
According to the police, Bhole made 263 calls from a cell phone. He would start the conversation saying, "Did you recognise me? We studied in the same college," and went on to say "I will take you for a drive."
Officers had no option but to accept all the calls as Bhole and a friend of his kept calling the emergency number 100. A lady staffer, Asha Shinde, had lodged a complaint with the Bundgarden Police station on Monday.
Police began to try to identify the caller on the basis of his location and SIM card details. They came to know that the SIM card was purchased by Ankush Jadhav. Jadhav was questioned and he revealed that his nephew, Bhole, was using the SIM card. He was taken into custody for allowing the misuse of his SIM card.
Arrest
Following Jadhav's revelation, a Bundgarden Police team led by PSI A M Randive arrested Bhole. "The duo was arrested on Wednesday night and they were responsible for making calls to women officers at the control room," confirmed ASI Om Mule, Bundgarden police station.

Police sources said Bhole's friend, who also made the calls, is still at large and they are interrogating Bhole to find out his identity. A case has been registered under Sections 186, 294 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code.
