Three killed in UP cracker blast

Three members of a family were killed early today in Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad when a stockpile of crackers kept for Diwali suddenly exploded in a house, police said.

The powerful blast in Rasoolpur area also left three others critically injured, while several nearby houses were damaged.

Superintendent of Police Aparna HS said that the explosion took place in a makeshift house on an open plot, where the crackers were being manufactured illegally and stored, without a license.

The dead were identified as Devi Singh (45), his wife Guddi (43) and daughter Rekha (17).

A probe has been ordered into the fire.u00a0
