The whole thing was organised by IT Milan, a wing of the RSS specially formed for IT professionals in the city.
Pranav Pawar and Rajesh Patil, coordinators, IT Milan, said the young IT professionals did the 30 kilometres from Alandi to Sancheti Hospital Chowk in four hours with the palkhi procession.
"This is the third year of this event," said Patil. "Employees from Infosys, DSK Digital, Wipro, Amdocs and Tech Mahendra participated in IT Milan."
American visitors
Six students from the US were also with the techies.
"For the first time, six American students who are here to study the culture of the city also participated in the procession with us," said Pawar. "They all came on behalf of the Youth For Seva Project."
