Thanks to the enterprising skills of our city's restaurateurs, variety, here, never ceases. From kachoris, chholey bhaturey and raj kachori to skewers, pastas and lasagnes, Delhi eats, eats and eats, and can still do with another helping. So, there's Cafu00c3u00a9 Oz in Khan Market now, yet another feather in the cap. Yeah, we have reason.
Food
Do they serve 'authentic Australian cuisine?' Heck no, because there's nothing specific that can make it to that category. Australians, after all, are as adjusting as Indians. The food palette in this country is a potpourri of delicacies from across the globe. Apart from usual suspects like the pepperoni or margarita pizzas (Rs 260 onwards) and club sandwiches (Rs 250 onwards), the highlight of the menu are herbed chicken schnitzel and fish and chips (Rs 300), Oz style beef or chicken burgers (Rs 350/280), forrouge moussahab (Rs 390) or tagliata of grilled beef tenderloin (Rs 460). All worth a chomp. Herbivores can feast on wild mushroom risotto (Rs350), Egyptian koshary (Rs 250, and yes, Egyptian) and a range of healthy salads (Rs 249 onwards). Verdict's ditto.
Say good bye with strawberry assiette (Rs 160), the trio of chocolate (Rs 190) or the passion fruit cream pastry (Rs 160). Heaven.
You can reach here for an early feast too, as they have a sumptuous breakfast menu. This apart, they also have a special bar snack menu, where the must tries are bruschetta (Rs 175), lentil croquettes (Rs 175), chilli cheese poppers (Rs 229), seasonal fruit skewers (Rs 175) and mezze plate (Rs 199).
Drinks
The place stocks wines from the world's best breweries. Yes, your usual assortment of alcoholic beverages and cocktails are on the menu, too. However, Flying Kangaroo (Rs 300) and Cafu00c3u00a9 Sydney (Rs 350) make your experience real Australian. Then, there's the draught beer, dispensed using Sub Zero a technique that dispenses a cold beer each and every time. No other bar in India we know of, has used this system before. We pity why the fanciness doesn't reflect in the taste!
Ambience
With laidback interiors, this Australian style bar-cafu00c3u00a9 pumps back the energy you lose at work. The stylish red and black spray paint, cool graphics and bar chairs push you into the coral reefs and balmy beaches. And if you have ever been to Australia, nostalgia is but inevitable. The translucent ceiling on the second floor allows ample sunlight to pass through, which is very unlike most tight-walled eateries in town. Worth a visit, definitely.
