The Shaikh family charged the two private hospitals for negligence, which led to the death ofu00a0 14 year old Reeda Shaikh.
Asif Lampwala said, "We will alsou00a0 be approaching the consumer court to file a suit demanding the compensation and apology from the doctors. The compensation amountu00a0 will be decided later."
Senior PI Suhas Nadgauda told MiD-DAY, "We have accepted the application of Shaikh family. A similar complaint was received from the joint director (health) of the Maharashtra government."
"But we can't proceed further unless the three member medical committee, which has been set up to look into the matter submits the report. The offence will be registered only after the report is available with us," added Nadguada.
Reeda was being treated at Jehangir Hospital while her throat swab samples were sent to Ruby Hall Clinic for tests. The test reports showed Reeda was suffering from pneumonia and her family alleged that wrong diagnosis led to crucial delay in her treatment leading to her tragic death.
The family has been claiming that if not for the negligence of the two hospitals, Reeda would still be alive.
