The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL), along with the Indian Institute of Interior Designers, have invited participation from students for the competition to design the (interior) walls and spaces of Swami Vivekananda station and MG Road.
The competition is open to all diploma or degree holders in architecture, interior design, graphic and fine arts. Students can participate individually or in a team of not more than five members.
One of the main requirements set by BMRCL is that the design for each Metro station must express the philosophies, and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi and Swami Vivekananda, after whom the stations have been named.
The BMRCL has fixed prize money of Rs 1 lakh for the first place and Rs 30,000 for the second place. The prize amount for median design of MG Road and SV Road is Rs 30,000 and Rs 15,000 for the first and second places respectively.
