The explosion took place at 11.30 am in Shashdarak, a neighbourhood close to the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) headquarters and the US embassy. “I saw six bodies on the ground but I cannot say if the blast was a suicide bombing or a rocket attack,” said Mohammad Jamil, an eyewitness.

The blast coincided with the event to mark the 11th martyrdom anniversary of late resistance leader and national hero Ahmad Shah Masoud amid tight security.u00a0
