Accused escapes with Rs 2.5 lakh given to him by his employer for converting into foreign currency
Employer-employee relationships are always based on trust. On Wednesday Rishi Raj lost the trust of his employer JR Tekwani, but gained Rs 2.5 lakh in the process. Tekwani, a businessman, had hired Rishi only two days ago on the recommendation of his former employee Vipin, without any police verification.
"Tekwani had given Rs 2.5 lakh in cash to Rishi Raj. He asked him to go to Fortis Hospital and meet one of his clients who would give Rishi Raj foreign currency against the Indian rupees. Tekwani gave him the cash in the afternoon but Rishi Raj did not return till late evening. Tekwani grew suspicious; he went to Rishi's rented accommodation in Zamrudpur area but found that he had fled. Perturbed, Tekwani called the police and got an FIR registered," said a senior police official.
Cops said that Tekwani lives in Greater Kailash area and has a business by the name of Princess Forex at the local market. The police have lodged an FIR under section 408 (criminal breach of trust).
"Tekwani said that Rishi Raj is a native of Bihar but he doesn't know his address. We will question Vipin who asked Tekwani to employ Rishi Raj," said the police official. He added that this was the first task that Tekwani had asked of his new employee.
