Understatedu00a0 elegance is in. So, we decided to take our casual chic style beyond our wardrobes to a dining session at Medici, a hip new European restaurant in Indiranagar.

A restaurant that comes with the fringe benefits of fine dining in a chilled out space. Bye, bye intimidation, hello gourmand.
No fuss interiors with warm earthy colours, straight lines, a mix of wood, marble and leather add to the comfort with a soothing music selection ranging fromu00a0 neo soul (a sub genre of R&B), progressive house, Brazilian jazz, R&B, vocal house and electronica. Make hay while the sun shines and rake in some privacy at Medici. Since the place is new, there's no squabble of snagging a hard-to-come-by table which is perfect for sharing some candid deux moments.
You won't be spoilt for choice here. The menu is not long drawn, so you can quickly pin down from the few listed in various sections -- appetisers, salads, soup, pasta, risotto, main course and dessert.
I took fancy to the Rucola Salad, but sadly due to the shortage of rocket leaves in Bangalore, they whipped up a Mesculean Salad (Rs 220) instead. It came with an Italian dress code. I forked into this crunchy affair with gusto. The lettuce left a bitter after taste, but the pine nuts tossed with olive oil, balanced it well.
If you're a soup person, then try the Wild Mushroom with Truffle Oil (Rs 150). The soup is creamy and wholesome tiny chunks of mushroom keeping the flavour intact. Order a Quiche aux e'pinard, a traditional French quiche filled with spinach to go alongside your soup. Chow down on the subtle flavours of the spinach on a perfectly done crust. The dishes come in small and big portions at different prices. The quiche is priced at Rs 180 and Rs 220, but even the higher priced ones weren't big enough for the Indian belly.
The piquant Asparagus Crepes were rolled with asparagus and a dash of hollandaise sauce (Rs 250). The homemade Tortellini (Rs 300) stuffed with ratatouille and ricotta cheese on a bed of wild mushroom sauce was creamy and delicious. This one was a jackpot and left me satiated with an epicurean gourmand haze.u00a0u00a0
I rounded up my meal with a Chocolate Fondant (Rs 150), with a warm gooey centre. A sinful pick!u00a0
