True to its name, Claytopia Bistro at Indiranagar, offers utopian fun in a colourful clay world. As you walk down the dimly lit corridor, a sense of calm and peace fills you.

The unpretentious glazed ceramic handiwork hanging from the walls and flickering candles on each table seems inviting enough after a hard day at work.

With simple wooden tables and cushioned iron chairs strewn around and the radio tuned in, the bistro is an ideal place for young hearts to share their deepest secrets.

We would recommend you heading straight to the back portion of the caf ufffd that is semi open-air and surrounded by trees giving it a cosy corner feel.
Once in, we wasted no time in asking for the menu card, which seemed to offer everything from hot and cold coffees to snacks like fries, rolls, sandwiches, burgers, salads, cakes and subs.
We quickly settled for Sweethearts' Coffee (Rs 65) and Frozen Oreo (Rs 60) to quench our parched throats. The Crispy Aubergine served with salsa sauce seemed to be the right thing to accompany the drinks, but its unavailability made us go for the Spicy Chicken Strips (Rs 145).
As we were waiting for our orders to arrive, the peaceful aura was soon invaded by a group of chattering college kids. In an hour we came to know everything from their Facebook updates to their favourite pubs in town. Soon with an American accent they started singing all sorts of songs best sung in one's own private bathroom.
Thankfully, our attention was soon diverted as the thick shakes and the chicken strips fried in the fiery Andhra Chicken 65 style came to our table. The red chicken strips garnished with curry leaves and chillies turned out to be a tad too spicy for our tastes.
We reached for our icy drinks, which soon calmed our burning tongues. The Sweetheart's Coffee was a delightful shot of espresso blended in with Irish cream and vanilla ice cream topped with whipped cream while the Frozen Oreo shake turned out to be a mildly sweet cookie filled espresso with an Oreo cookie on top for garnish.
However, the Chicken Alioli (Rs 160), penne tossed in garlic, olive oil, sun dried tomatoes and sprinkled basil was a disappointment. We had asked for spaghetti but only penne and fusilli was available.
The pasta lacked heaps of garlic and was too dry for our taste. The Bistro Chicken Burger (Rs 120), however stole the show.
Sandwiched between two buns, the chicken fillet served with salami, cheese, a fried egg, tomatoes, onions and lettuce was a complete meal by itself.u00a0 How can a whole lot of carbs combined with proteins go wrong anywhere?
The chicken and the egg blended in our mouths leaving a wonderful cheesy flavour. Content and happy we decided to try the Blueberry Cheese Cake (Rs 70), which turned out to be a not-so-good a choice. Smeared with too sweet a raspberry sauce, the cake arrived but without any hint of blueberry.
It is the ambience that works for Bistro Claytopia making it a perfect place for a quiet brunch. More than anything else, the adjacent ceramic studio makes the concept of the caf ufffd unique.
You can pick any bisque ware or moulds worth Rs 200 and paint them through the day with colours provided by the caf ufffd. Once painted, Claytopia takes care of the rest.
They glaze your piece and fire (bake) it to over 1090 degrees and give it to you in a week's time. On a Sunday, if you want to do something creative over a cup of coffee and a sumptuous English breakfast, then this small caf ufffd should be your stop.
